It's an exciting time to be in Iowa. On January 3rd, students could decide the future of the country – by turning out to vote at the Iowa caucuses.
Young people are paying more attention to politics than ever. For the past three elections, we’ve turned out in big numbers. Now we need to do so again. As Iowans we have a unique role in deciding who the next leader of the country is going to be. We can’t afford to be benchwarmers! Every vote counts and if each of us votes, we can make a difference.
And what better way to get people excited about the caucus than to throw a party? The pre-caucus party could be five to fifty students getting together before the caucus. The event can take place a week before the caucus or just a few days.
It's easy:
- Find a location to have your party - a restaurant, coffee shop or at your house.
- Invite your friends.
- Ask a local community member to be a guest speaker.
